NXT star Mei Ying has undergone a major gimmick change as the whole Mei Ying/Tian Sha business is being done away with.
As reported by PWInsider, Karen Yu (who had been working as Mei Ying) has received the new ring name Wendy Choo.
The Mei Ying character had been aligned with Xia Li and Boa, but Li was recently called up to the SmackDown roster.
Ying and Boa stayed aligned for a little while, but a couple of weeks ago there was a weird vignette that seemingly signified the end of the alliance, which this news now confirms.
There’s no word on what exactly ‘Wendy Choo’ will be doing, but it certainly sounds like this is an overhaul and not just a name change.
