Another Popular AEW Star Takes Up Backstage Role AEW

Following recent news regarding active AEW talent taking on extra backstage responsibilities, it seems yet another prominent star can be added to that list.

According to Fightful Select, current AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy has recently began working as a producer/agent.

The report specifies that Cassidy has particularly had a hand in producing recent matches such as The Kingdom vs The Infantry on ROH TV, and Matt Sydal and Trent Berretta vs Big Bill and Brian Cage on AEW Rampage.

Fightful also details the exact responsibilities of Cassidy and others in producer/agent roles, including: Being on headsets during matches, sending instructions throughout, making sure everything is on time, and running through the matches with talent themselves beforehand.

The role also requires giving instructions to the production staff as well, particularly regarding any big spots planned so they can make preparations justly.

As mentioned, Cassidy becomes the latest in a string of active stars taking on extra roles backstage, with recent reports revealing that both Bryan Danielson and Dax Harwood have had a hand in creative specifically on AEW Collision.

The Varsity Athletes’ Ari Daivari has also been brought on board in a producer role, and impressively had a hand in crafting the 57-minute 2/3 falls tag team classic between FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) and Bullet Club Gold (Jay White & Juice Robinson) on the July 15  edition of Collision.
