Cody Rhodes has suffered a tragically timed injury prior to tonight’s WWE Hell In A Cell premium live event in Chicago, Illinois.
WWE announced the injury to Cody at last night’s WWE live event, with him being replaced by Drew McIntyre in the night’s main event.
Dave Meltzer revealed earlier today that Cody is rumoured to have suffered a torn pec, though that has yet to be confirmed. He is also still slated to compete at tonight’s Hell In A Cell show.
WrestleVotes posted an update on the situation, noting that the news is accurate, and reiterating that the severity is not yet known. They also mentioned that plans for the match have been changing all day following the news.
They tweeted:
Unfortunately, the Cody Rhodes injury news going around is accurate. He is still scheduled to work tonight’s HIAC event, w/ the severity of the injury still being determined. I’m told plans for the match have been changing all day long. Feel terrible for Cody.
WrestleTalk will be providing live coverage of tonight’s Hell In A Cell show from 8PM EST.
