On October 21, Samantha Irvin revealed that she had left her role as the WWE Raw ring announcer and would be leaving the company.
The announcement was made on Irvin’s personal social media as she went on to thank the fans, the wrestlers and production crew.
Details of the reason behind Irvin’s departure were revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio, with Bryan Alvarez noting:
“She’s got some outside projects she wants to do, apparently couldn’t come to terms with how it worked in WWE.”

Dave Meltzer would provide further insight, revealing that Irvin had been thinking about this for some time, stating:
“She’s been thinking about it (WWE exit) for about a year. She wants to be a singer, she is a singer, she also plays the flute. She wants to get more involved with her music, it’s something she’s been talking about for a long, long time and finally pulled the trigger on it.
“It’s not like a plan to go to AEW, not saying 100% that she won’t go. Ricochet actually tweeted that she’s not going and that wasn’t her intention to go there.
“She left on her own, it’s something she’d been considering. She didn’t grow up as a wrestling person, she grew up as a musical person and this was her passion, so she’s trying to follow her passion.”

Other reports from both Fightful and PWInsider have confirmed the departure was a case of Irvin resigning from her position, not her being released.
After news of Samantha Irvin’s departure broke, Ricochet tweeted that she wouldn’t be heading to AEW to join him in his new home. Ricochet – Irvin’s fiancé – left WWE a few months ago upon the end of his contract and went on to debut for AEW at All In London.
Irvin has been replaced by Lilian Garcia who made her return to WWE Raw on the October 21 episode.
Multiple WWE stars, including Logan Paul, have reacted to Irvin’s departure with legendary announcer Michael Buffer also sharing his thoughts.
