The real reason why former NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton dropped her ‘daddy’s little rich girl’ character has now been revealed.
Speaking with Steve Fall for WrestlingNews.co, the rising star recalled her first character with WWE, following her debut in late 2021.
Noting that she transitioned away from this character as WWE didn’t have any plans for her ‘daddy’, Stratton said:
“In the beginning, I was kind of like Daddy’s little rich girl. I kind of just was like, I want to get on TV. And, you know, this was kind of like, new and different, I guess. So I pitched it.
“It stuck. And it works for a little bit until they’re like, we don’t have a daddy for you. So you’re not daddy’s little rich girl.”
Stratton has recently been appearing on main roster shows, notably confronting Becky Lynch at the Payback premium live event.
This led to an NXT Women’s Championship match on the September 12 edition of NXT, which Lynch ultimately won.
Stratton has since wrestled on several WWE main roster shows, fuelling speculation about her potential call-up.
Previously scrapped plans for Stratton on the main roster have now been revealed.
