“Dirty” Dominik Mysterio has become a focal point for Judgment Day in the WWE and not just thanks to his pairing with Rhea Ripley.
Ripley has recently discussed her partnership with Mysterio, calling it a “happy accident.”
Mysterio joined Judgment Day after betraying his father at WWE Clash at the Castle in September 2022 and has gone on to become quite the reaction magnet, something that Triple H noted on the October 13 WWE SmackDown (as can be seen below).
His father, Rey Mysterio, has commented on the growth of Dominik while speaking to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, saying:
“As his father you can only imagine the feeling of pride that I get every time he grabs a mic, he makes that connection with the fans whether it’s a good connection or a bad connection.
“In this case it’s a bad connection. They don’t let him talk, I have always fed off the chants and the ovation of the crowd that’s my energy, that’s my fuel to keep pushing forward and to give always my best.
“So it’s in a way weird to just try to imagine comparing both situations, I love the ovation and the chants, he feeds off of the boos. So it is such a cool thing for me a father, I’m enjoying his run that he’s having right now and his growth overall.
“I’m not going to lie, I was the first one that was on him constantly when we wrestled together telling him that, he needed a change or do or pick up the speed on certain things.
“To see him now on his own it’s like wow, this kid had something in him that I didn’t even see or knew would happen so fast, but we are all witnessing his growth which I think is really cool. You can only imagine as a father how I feel.”
Mickie James recently commented on the rise of Dominik Mysterio, noting that he’s only “just scratching the surface” and will be looked at as one of the greats in years to come.
Dominik Mysterio is the current NXT North American Champion and got into a backstage altercation with Nathan Frazer, which will be followed up on during tonight’s NXT.
Rey Mysterio is the WWE United States Champion and was recently called out by Logan Paul following the social media influencer’s fight with Dillon Danis.
The WWE Hall of Famer has responded telling Paul where to find him, with Logan Paul’s next WWE appearance being confirmed for the October 20 episode of SmackDown.
