First Ever Women’s Main Event In ROH PPV History ROH

The main event of tonight’s Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor marked a historic milestone for the company (July 21).

Tonight, Athena and Willow Nightingale made Ring of Honor history on pay-per-view.

On Ring of Honor’s pay-per-view, Death Before Dishonor, commentary noted that a Women’s match was main eventing for the first time on pay-per-view.

Recent Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament winner Willow Nightingale challenged Athena for the ROH Women’s Championship.

After the enthralling match came to a close, it was the champ who came out on top as Athena retained her ROH Women’s Championship.

Running at the same time over on AEW Rampage, the TBS Championship was on the line as Kris Statlander defended her title against ‘The Problem’ Marina Shafir in a heavy handed battle by which she retained her title.

Despite the lengthy card for the pay-per-view event with various titles on the line, there was actually only one title change on Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor’s main card.
