Top Star Names Sasha Banks & Naomi As Potential WWE Opponents WWE

SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has named Sasha Banks and Naomi as potential WWE opponents, amid the stars’ absences.

Neither Banks or Naomi have appeared for WWE since walking out on the May 16 edition of Raw. While previous reports indicated that both stars had agreed in principle to return ot TV, Banks and Naomi appear to be focusing on projects away from the ring.

Ronda Rousey recently called out WWE in a vlog for the presentation of the women’s division, criticising the company for the lack of non-title storylines, and for having a shallow women’s roster.

On the topic of future title challengers, Rousey notably named Banks and Naomi as stars who are part of the SmackDown roster.

Rousey said:

“I wonder who’s next. It’s forcing me to look at the entire field at Smackdown which is less than 10 people. Shotzi Aliyah, Raquel, Nattie, Shayna, Naomi, Sasha, is that it? I want to be an active champion.

“I came back to wrestle so I could wrestle. Doing promos and run-ins and all that stuff, it’s cool and all but I like wrestling. And I want to be able to get more ring timing because I just get better every time.”

Banks and Naomi were the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions when they walked out, but were stripped of the gold and suspended shortly after.

Naomi is reportedly in talks with WWE, which you can read more about right here.

Rousey won the SmackDown Women’s Title back from Liv Morgan at Extreme Rules. The October 8 Premium Live Event also featured one of the first references to Sasha Banks on WWE TV since her walk-out.
