Anoa’i Family Member Teases WWE Confrontation With The Rock WWE

An Anoa’i family member has appeared to tease a confrontation with The Rock with a curious callback to a previous Attitude Era storyline.

Throughout The Bloodline saga storyline, one of the previous generation of Anoa’i family members Rikishi has done his best to comment on what’s been playing out on TV via his Twitter account.

While this has yet to materialise into an appearance on TV for the former Intercontinental Champion, perhaps the latest development in the story may be enough for him to make his return to TV.

On last week’s Day 1 edition of Monday Night Raw, The Rock made his return to WWE TV and in doing so teased the match with Roman Reigns that everyone has anticipated would happen since the Tribal Chief’s record-breaking title run began.

While Reigns has only responded to the prospect of the match with laughter, both on social media and on TV it seems as if his first cousin Rikishi is eager to see it happen, perhaps based on some ill-will between he and Rock over 20 years ago on WWE programming.

Posting an old video of The Rock berating him and saying he wants “nothing” to do with him, Rikishi would caption a blood emoji, leading fans to speculate that he may still hold a grudge against The People’s Champion.

Rikishi and The Rock became entwined in one of the company’s biggest stories of the Attitude Era, when in late 2000 when Rikishi was revealed as the culprit who ran over Stone Cold Steve Austin at Survivor Series 1999; something he dedicated to an unknowing Rock.

The pair ended up facing off in a singles match a year later at Survivor Series 2000, which The Rock won.
