The Rock To Make WWE History With WrestleMania 40 Return

The Rock To Make WWE History With WrestleMania 40 Return WWE

The Rock is set to reach a historic WWE milestone with his match at WrestleMania 40, with the Final Boss set to join the Undertaker in a very exclusive category.

In the main event of Saturday’s WrestleMania 40 Night One show, The Rock will team with WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns to battle Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns.

If Rhodes and Rollins win this main event, the Bloodline will be banned from ringside when Rhodes challenges for Roman Reigns’ championship on WrestleMania 40 Night Two.

If The Rock and Roman Reigns win, the Undisputed Universal Championship match will be contested under “Bloodline Rules”.

This main event will be historic for a number of reasons. Following WrestleMania 40 Night One, The Rock will be the second star ever to have headlined WrestleMania in four different decades.

Prior to his 2023 main event, The Rock has main-evented WrestleMania in the 1990s (WrestleMania 15), 2000s (16, 17) and 2010s (28, 29).

The only other wrestler to have headlined WrestleMania events in four different decades is The Undertaker.

The Rock’s match at WrestleMania 40 will be his first full match since main eventing WrestleMania 29 in 2013 against John Cena.

While he was technically in action at WrestleMania 32 in 2016, his match against Erick Rowan only lasted six seconds.

Shawn Michaels recently revealed the real reason why a certain WWE faction was chosen to train with The Rock ahead of WrestleMania 40, which you can read more about right here.
