Titus O’Neil Opens Up About Adopting Gay Daughter & Supporting LGBTQ Rights WWE

Titus O’Neil has opened up about being an advocate for LGBTQ rights after adopting his daughter.

Speaking on Wrestling Inc Daily, O’Neil noted that his 16 year old daughter is openly gay. The WWE star stated that he has always supported the LGBTQ community, revealing that he has seen family members persecuted by other people in his family in the past.

Praising his daughter for being a great human being, O’Neil said:

“I have always been an advocate for those in the lesbian and gay community because people in my family were persecuted by my own family members for being gay or lesbian, that I still have a very strong distaste for and haven’t spoken to a lot of them since.

“We have to take a closer look at being greater human beings and those great human beings have very significant differences, but our differences shouldn’t divide us. Should help us understand from a different perspective.

“I have a daughter who I just adopted. She’s 16 years old and she’s openly gay. One person asked me, ‘How does it feel to have a gay daughter?’ ‘Well how does it feel to have a straight son, that’s an a**hole?’

“I’ve known her since she was seven or eight years old. I adopted her because she’s a great human being. She deserves a dad. What her sexual preference is, I’m not there to damn her or demean her for what she chooses to live out.”

O’Neil hasn’t wrestled since November 2020, and has been working as a WWE ambassador since then. He notably was the recipient of the 2020 Hall of Fame Warrior Award for his philanthropy and contributions to his Tampa Bay community.

The star recently provided an update on his potential return to the ring, which you can read about right here.

O’Neil’s wrestling hiatus was due to a knee injury. Keep track of all WWE stars who are currently out due to injuries with our injury tracker at this link.
