A top star believes Zack Sabre Jr. has gotten even better.
New Japan Pro Wrestling will make their return to London, England for the third annual Royal Quest event from the Copper Box Arena on Saturday, October 14.
The headline match will see Will Ospreay defending the IWGP United Kingdom Championship against Zack Sabre Jr. This battle of arguably the two very best British wrestlers has created plenty of buzz among the wrestling fanbase.
In a new interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Ospreay shared his thoughts on his title defense and praised his opponent. He said:
“I’ve always looked up to him him a weird way, we’ve had this incredibly friendly rivalry that’s stretched across England, America and Japan and it’s scary to say that he’s gotten even better.”
“He’s put on weight, he’s now a real life heavyweight style wrestler, but he hasn’t lost any of his fluidity or flexibility as a performer.”
“But I don’t think there’s anybody in the world that can compete with me right now.”
Expressing his desire to bring NJPW back to where it was prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ospreay said:
“It’s now a huge responsibility to get New Japan back to where it was before COVID hit.”
“This is about promoting New Japan on a global stage, and there’s no better two wrestlers to main event.”
