Daniel Cormier Says The Door Isn’t Closed On WWE Future After Extreme Rules WWE

Daniel Cormier says that the door is not closed on WWE future following Extreme Rules.

At the WWE Extreme Rules event, UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier refereed the Fight Pit main event between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle.

Despite admitting that this would just be a one-off appearance ahead of the show, it looks like the door isn’t closed for more appearances for Cormier.

In an interview with Associated Press, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion discussed his Extreme Rules appearance and not closing the door on a future with the company.

When asked about potentially facing Brock Lesnar in a WWE match, he answered:

“I’ve been retired for a couple of years and I look like it. But I’d have to get in shape if I ever want to do something like that. The door is not closed on anything right now in my life.”

Cormier continued on to add about possibly competing in a WWE ring, saying:

“I’m still at an age where there are some opportunities, but those opportunities need to start now if they’re going to be something I pursue.”

In regards to the Riddle vs. Rollins Fight Pit Match, Cormier said:

“Those guys are so talented. They knew exactly what they were going to do and I was just trying to stay out of the way. I didn’t want to get in the way and mess something up.”

Matt Riddle defeated Seth Rollins to win the Fight Pit Match at the Extreme Rules event on October 8.
