Zoey Stark has revealed that she apologized to Becky Lynch after a botched move at WWE Night of Champions in May 2023.
On the premium live event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Stark made her official main roster debut during Lynch’s match with Trish Stratus, helping Stratus get the win.
The moment didn’t go quite to plan, though, with Stark hitting her Z-360 finisher on Lynch leaving Lynch with a legitimate bloody nose.
Highlights from the match at the Jeddah Superdome can be seen below this news story.
Stark spoke to Haus of Wrestling about the incident, revealing what happened backstage:
“Statement made (laughs). In all seriousness, we did talk, and she was fine. She’s good, like, her nose, you know, it happens.
“We’re in a very physical sport. I don’t ever want to hurt anybody, but when it happens, it happens, and you go back and you apologize, and that’s exactly what I did. I went back, ‘I’m so sorry.’
“It sucks when it happens. It sucks. But it happens.”
The rivalry between Stratus and Lynch continues to WWE Payback on September 2, 2023 where the pair will face each other in a steel cage.
Becky Lynch has previously revealed that she wants a brutal end to her feud with Stratus.
On last night’s Raw, Lynch beat Stratus in a falls count anywhere match in the main event.
