Some backstage news has come to light regarding the relationship between Vince McMahon and John Cena in WWE throughout the years.
Speaking on his ARN podcast, Arn Anderson discussed how Vince McMahon would “nine times out of 10” agree with Cena’s ideas for his own creative direction.
Anderson said:
“I never failed to tell him (Cena) what I thought and when something was too much, and [if] we’re making a mistake here. If it was already settled and it was already being discussed, I had very, very little control over that.
“As the years crept by, less and less, John took more control of what he felt he should do in his angles. Nine times out of 10, Vince would just go right along with him, and I understand.”
There have been a lot of stories about John Cena backstage, with some suggesting that his control led to some careers being ruined, while others have expressed very much the opposite.
The last time we saw Cena in WWE was WrestleMania this past April at WrestleMania for the Firefly Fun House match with Bray Wyatt.
