On tonight’s WWE Raw, long reigning Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER has entered himself into the Royal Rumble 2024.
In an in-ring segment, Intercontinental champion GUNTHER declared that he would be entering the 2024 Royal Rumble after having previously gotten very close in 2023.
GUNTHER eliminated 5 men in the 2023 Royal Rumble after having entered at number one.
The Ring General was the last man standing against Cody Rhodes, boasting the longest amount of time ever in a Rumble match at over an hour and ten minutes.
In the end, GUNTHER was eliminated by Cody Rhodes as the former went on to main event WWE WrestleMania 39 in a losing effort against Roman Reigns.
Despite losing the Royal Rumble match, GUNTHER would go on to continue to hold the Intercontinental Championship throughout 2023 to boast the longest reign in the title’s history.
