WWE Star Explains Why He Doesn’t Want To Win Intercontinental Title Again WWE

WWE star Kevin Owens has explained why he doesn’t want to win the Intercontinental Championship again.

Owens is recognised as a WWE grand slam winner, with the Prizefighter previously holding the Universal, US, Intercontinental and WWE Tag Team titles.

Speaking at a Fanatics Live auction on the UpUpDownDown YouTube channel, Owens pointed out that he has held the IC Title for the same number of days as Owen Hart.

Noting that he doesn’t want to win the Intercontinental Championship again because of this stat, Owens said:

“This is the main event, it’s the replica championship of the Intercontinental Title I held for the exact same amount of days as Owen Hart.

“We both had two title runs, they total the exact same amount of days. So I technically don’t ever wanna win this again because I like that.”

Owens first Intercontinental Title reign began in September 2015 when he defeated Ryback for the gold at that year’s Night of Champions event. He held the gold for 84 days before dropping the title to Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) at TLC 2015.

Kevin Owens won the gold back in February 2016, winning a five-way bout to become champion. This title reign lasted for 48 days, with Zack Ryder (Matt Cardona) winning a ladder match for the title at WrestleMania 32.

Both Owen Hart and Kevin Owens have an Intercontinental Championship combined day total of 132 days each.

Owens is set to challenge for Logan Paul’s US Championship at WrestleMania 40, alongside Randy Orton in a three-way title bout.

Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER will defend his gold against Sami Zayn at the show of shows.

Another WWE star is pushing to be added to a different title match at WrestleMania, which you can read more about right here.
