WWE Money in the Bank 2026 has seen another date change, although it will still be taking place in New Orleans later this year.
Originally announced for August 29 in New Orleans, the date would be changed to September 6 in an announcement made last October.
The date has once again been changed, although the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans will still host the event, now taking place on October 10.
In a press release dated June 8, WWE officially confirmed the date change, with the statement reading:
June 8, 2026 – WWE, in conjunction with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and Legends Global, today announced that Money in the Bank will now take place Saturday, October 10 — one month later than originally announced — at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
Money in the Bank features WWE’s biggest Superstars as they battle to earn a briefcase containing a contract for a championship match at a time and place of their choosing anytime within the next year.
Money in the Bank is, at the time of writing, the last announced PLE on this year’s calendar, with WWE SummerSlam taking place on August 1 & 2 at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
New Orleans & The Changing WWE PLE Plans
Despite being announced as the host for WrestleMania 42, plans would change with Las Vegas running the two-night WWE PLE again. TKO President Mark Shapiro would suggest that the decision to run WrestleMania back-to-back at Allegiant Stadium was something of a mistake.
It can’t have been welcome news for city officials that WrestleMania, and all that entails, was no longer going to be taking place in New Orleans, particularly with a past report noting that the 2018 event, which only ran for one night, netted the region $175 million.
Now, to find that a WWE Premium Live Event has had its date changed more than once, moving from August, into September and now October, might raise even more eyebrows.
It would be something of a surprise if plans were not in place to capitalize on the event from the moment a host city is officially confirmed. It doesn’t make business sense for any of the major strokes to be left to the last minute when it comes to the logistics of managing the influx of visitors.
Now, any of those plans will likely be changing for a third time to accommodate WWE Money in the Bank.
