Jack Cartwheel has named the stars he wants to face in WWE AAA, including El Grande Americano, despite the reaction he’d receive if this match happened.
A former WWE ID signing, it was previously reported that Jack Cartwheel was signed to AAA on a full-time basis.
Cartwheel is no stranger to AAA, having performed there since 2022, something he would discuss on a recent episode of Pep Talks, sharing his thoughts on what the impact of the WWE acquisition has meant to the company, saying:
“It’s amazing. It’s an absolute dream. The way that it operates now, in 2026, is definitely different from 2022 and 2023 when I was going originally.
“Just the amount of work that they’ve put into production is amazing, and to the talent, and having real WWE coaches there, helping us, as AAA talents, to put on the best show, the best matches and the best fights that we possibly can.
“It’s inspiring, and for someone who didn’t know that they would get into lucha libre until, you know, it started happening, it’s just so satisfying to be able to jump into a world that I didn’t know and to learn, and to grow, and work at AAA where there’s Laredo Kid, where there’s TJP, Dragon Lee, and, you know, the best luchadors in the world. It’s a dream come true.”

When it comes to potential opponents, Cartwheel had both Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano, among others, in mind, despite the reaction he may get for facing the popular star, stating:
“I want to face Lince Dorado. I want to face El Hijo de Dr. Wagner. I want to face Dominik Mysterio, (El Hijo Del) Vikingo, Mini Vikingo.
“I want to face El Grande Americano, even though I might get booed out of the building just because whoever’s facing him, man, it’s bad news.
“I want to face Psycho Clown. He’s one of the nicest guys. We’ve worked on the indies, and to have that match again on AAA would be awesome.
“I got the pleasure of working with Dragon Lee, and I would like that to happen again. So, yeah, the whole roster… the whole roster can get it.
“And, Laredo Kid because he still has the (AAA World Cruiserweight) Championship. When I come back, I’m coming for that.”

Unfortunately, for Cartwheel, who is currently sidelined from injury, Laredo Kid lost the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship at Noche de Los Grandes on May 30.
During the interview, Cartwheel would reveal that he doesn’t need surgery for his arm injury, noting he would be sidelined for six months.
The WWE Influence on AAA
In April of last year, during the WrestleMania 41 Countdown show, it was announced that WWE had acquired AAA, with it later being revealed that The Undertaker had adopted a behind-the-scenes role.
That wouldn’t be the only involvement from WWE, with a number of main roster stars appearing in AAA, including the aforementioned Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio, and both iterations of El Grande Americano.
With Chad Gable now unmasked in a match that was produced by Pete Dunne, Ludwig Kaiser continues to perform as El Grande Americano, having established the character as a popular feature of the AAA roster.
It hasn’t been a one-way street, either, with a number of AAA stars, including Mr. Iguana, finding their way onto WWE programming and rapidly establishing their presence, be it on NXT or the main roster.
WWE’s production values have found their way into AAA programming, with Jeremy Borash also functioning in a behind-the-scenes capacity, bringing his extensive experience of television production, having served in TNA Wrestling until moving to WWE in 2018, now serving as Vice President of Content and Development.
Despite all the production changes, AAA remains largely true to its nature, with WWE adding polish to the Mexico-based promotion.
