The number one contender to the WWE NXT Championship who will face Carmelo Hayes at WWE NXT No Mercy has been determined tonight.
In a big match to kick off tonight’s WWE NXT which could legitimately be called hard hitting, Wes Lee and Ilja Dragunov went to war.
The pair were both willing to take big risks in order to get a match against NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes at the upcoming NXT premium live event, No Mercy.
After several thrilling spots throughout, the main event feel match would conclude with a vicious elbow from Ilja Dragunov before he was able to capture the pinfall victory over Wes Lee.
The win would summon the champ Carmelo Hayes who was ready for their rematch after their instant classic from over this summer.
They will face off again on September 30 at NXT No Mercy, a premium live event on Peacock for the WWE NXT Championship.
