WWE Has ‘Significant Interest’ In Re-Signing Another Released Star

WWE is reportedly interested in bringing back another released star, following a number of recent returns.

Following Triple H taking over WWE creative in late-July, numerous former WWE names have rejoined the company. We’ve already had several high-profile comebacks this month, with Bray Wyatt making an appearance at Extreme Rules, and Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows reuniting with AJ Styles on the October 10 edition of Raw.

Per WrestleVotes on Twitter, WWE wants to re-sign former NXT and SmackDown talent Chelsea Green. WrestleVotes noted:

“I’m told another name WWE has significant interest in bringing back is Chelsea Green. I would think if a deal is offered, it’s for the main roster. Time will tell.”

Green was released from her WWE contract in April 2021. She and Deonna Purrazzo interestingly dropped the IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championship to Jessicka & Taya Valkyrie at Bound For Glory on October 7.

Several IMPACT names are reportedly finishing up with the promotion, including former WWE star ‘Reckoning’ Mia Yim.

This report has fuelled speculation about yet another WWE return, in Matt Cardona. Green is married to Cardona, who wrestled as ‘Zack Ryder’. Cardona was let go by WWE in 2020, after 15 years with the company.
