WWE tag team partners are set for a big match against each other for a championship as confirmed on tonight’s SmackDown.
After an already exciting night on SmackDown with The Rock returning, another WWE legend took to the ring, Rey Mysterio, along with the rest of the Latino World Order.
However by the end of the segment here would be a major challenge issued within the stable.
Santos Escobar challenged his LWO mentor and United States Champion Rey Mysterio to a title match.
With Rey Mysterio responding that he of course accepted, the pair were exchanging respect as they were interrupted by Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits.
A contemptuous exchange between groups led to a match featuring the Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) against Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde from the LWO.
In the end, the Profits not only won, they took it a step further as Angelo Dawkins also attacked Rey Mysterio at the behest of Bobby Lashley.
There was not a date confirmed for Mysterio vs Escobar, but WWE does have another premium live event coming up soon.
WWE Fastlane is on Saturday October 7, 2023 live on Peacock from Indianapolis, Indiana.
Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE SmackDown, the show kicked off with a very big return: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. You can click here to read more about that.
