According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is internal talk in WWE about running a Network special in 2019 featuring non-contracted talent, similar to the Cruiserweight Classic and the Mae Young Classic.
It is speculated that the show would be an independent wrestling showcase featuring talent from WWE’s partner promotions WWN (from the United States), PROGRESS and ICW (from the UK).

The relationship between WWE and the aforementioned three indy groups has been evident in recent years. WWN talent competed at Axxess this year and NXT North American Champion Adam Cole will be sent the other way to wrestle for EVOLVE on June 24. Meanwhile, ICW has used WWE talents Finn Balor, Noam Dar and even Triple H on live events over the past few years, whilst PROGRESS has regularly featured WWE UK talent and the likes of Jack Gallagher and Dakota Kai.
ICW and PROGRESS shows have both been rumored to air on the Network for years, with WWE confirming as much during a conference call only for Vince McMahon to change his mind. There are rumblings that this may be back on after ICW parted ways with their long-time in-house music producer, to make way for generic stock tracks that can be used on the WWE Network.
