WrestleTalk News Round-up – September 26, 2018

Welcome to the September 26, 2018 edition of the WrestleTalk news round-up, in which we take a brief look at a few of the smaller happenings in the wrestling world from throughout the day, to make sure you don’t miss a thing.

Several Shawn Michaels matches reportedly confirmed

We’ve all heard the speculation by now that Shawn Michaels is set for an in-ring return in the not-too-distant future.

The ‘Heartbreak Kid’ will be in Triple H’s corner at Super Show-Down, as the ‘Game’ takes on the Undertaker, who will have Kane as backup.

This story isn’t set to end October 6 though. It has already been heavily reported that we will see Triple H & Michaels take on Kane and ‘Taker in a tag match at WWE Crown Jewel, and reputable Twitter account WrestleVotes is now reporting that we’re set for an HBK vs. ‘Taker one-on-one match, likely at Survivor Series later the same month.

Mick Foley on his favorite current WWE talents

WWE recently released a video to YouTube of Mick Foley’s fan Q&A from the WWE Network.

The most interesting takeaway is what Foley had to say when discussing his favorite wrestlers in WWE today:

“I’ve been a fan of Tommaso Ciampa for a long time, I have. I love what he and Johnny Gargano are doing.

“I love the face that Ember Moon, creating eyeballs right away. Just yesterday I was watching a replay… I think Ronda Rousey’s doing a tremendous job, I really do. She’s coming around really quickly and part of what helps any good babyface or good guy or woman along the way is a great heel, and I think Alexa Bliss has developed into a great heel.”

The ‘Hardcore Legend’ continued:

“I admire Kevin Owens’ guts for going places as a heel that other heels won’t go.”

“When he was on top of the Cell with Shane McMahon, the crisis of confidence he had, when he was about to go but he didn’t want to, and he knows that, some guys are so concerned with being the cool heel, they’re not willing to show fear. Kevin will do whatever it takes and he will turn any promo given to him into a work of art.

“Although Jericho is not an up & comer by any ways, I really admire the way he’s constantly evolving. I tell younger up & coming wrestlers to watch Chris Jericho because he never relies on one thing too long.”

DDT & wXw heading to the States for WrestleMania weekend

It wouldn’t be WrestleMania weekend without a whole batch of indie shows to look forward to and predict to be better than WrestleMania itself would it?

Well, we can add Japan’s Dramatic Dream Team and Germany’s Westside Xtreme Wrestling to that mix.

As part of the WWNLive Experience package, DDT and wXw shows will both be held at the LaBoom nightclub in Queens, New York, over ‘Mania weekend.

This will be the first time DDT has ventured into the States, and wXw‘s first visit since 2011.

Other promotions that will be hosting shows under the WWN umbrella include EVOLVE, SHIMMERKaiju Big Battel, and the annual supershow known as Mercury Rising.

No schedule or ticket info is yet available.
