Samoa Joe has not been seen on WWE TV since losing in the WWE World Cup Qualifier to Jeff Hardy earlier this month, and the reason looks to be an injury.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Joe is being deliberately kept out of the ring while he deals with the injury, and has been spotted using a supportive boot backstage.
Although it has not been confirmed what kind of injury it is, it has been speculated that it is some kind of foot injury. The injury adds Joe to an already long list of WWE stars currently out with some kind of knock.
Joe is advertised for this weekend’s house shows, but it is not believed that he will be able to perform at them due to his injury.
It is not known how long Joe will be out for, or what his role will be on his return.
You would assume that he is out of the WWE Championship picture for now, but with Daniel Bryan reportedly refusing to attend Crown Jewel where he was set to face AJ Styles for the title, Joe might be the most logical replacement.
