Kofi Kingston is officially headed to WrestleMania to face WWE Champion Daniel Bryan after Kofi’s New Day teammates won their tag team gauntlet match. They defeated Gallows & Anderson in quick fashion before putting away Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura in a Fastlane re-match. The Smackdown locker room joined Kofi who was banned from ringside in cheering on Xavier Woods and Big E backstage.

The duo then faced the team they battled for much of 2018 with, The Bar. Sheamus and Cesaro were bested by their longtime rivals but were not happy, and put Big E through a table. The Usos then appeared seemingly licking their lips. However, in an extremely well booked moment, the tag team champions said Kofi had earnt their respect after their many battles. They said that no one deserved to go to WrestleMania more than Kofi and declared that they would be forfeiting their match.

The final team between New Day ensuring Kofi would go to WrestleMania was Rowan and Daniel Bryan, and with Rowan buried under the announce desk, the referee counted out the former Wyatt Family member and New Day had won the gauntlet match. Greg Hamilton announced that ”Kofi Kingston is going to WrestleMania” as the former Intercontinental Champion joined his stablemates in the ring. New Day were then joined by the Smackdown Live roster who applauded the trio as they celebrated in the ring.
The rumoured match is now set, and Kofi Kingston will get his shot at WWE Champion Daniel Bryan at MetLife Stadium on April 7th at WrestleMania 35. KofiMania is now a reality.
