Over two months ago now, reports emerged suggesting that Lio Rush had obtained a lot of backstage heat within WWE after loudly sharing that felt he should be the top guy in the company.
Another report subsequently emerged stated that the heat actually stemmed from an incident backstage with Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor.
It was then reported that Rush would “never wrestle on the main roster again”, and there were discussions backstage about moving the cruiserweight back to NXT.
Rush has not been seen on TV since the reports first emerged, with Bobby Lashley seemingly continuing on Raw without his “Hype Man”.
Despite removing all references to the company from his various social media accounts, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer says that Rush is still under contract with WWE.
With regards to the company’s feelings towards the “Man of the Hour”, Meltzer had the following to say:
“The response on the creative end is that nobody talks about him and he’s not someone being used.”
It doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing Lio Rush on WWE TV in any capacity anytime soon.
