Kevin Owens made his NXT return last night at TakeOver: WarGames, becoming the final man in Team Ciampa for the men’s WarGames match.
Ciampa’s team was initially set to include Matt Riddle, but an injury to Johnny Gargano meant Riddle was taken out of the match to face Gargano’s original opponent, Finn Bálor.
Triple H gave an update on Gargano’s status a couple of days ago, saying he was day-to-day, but nothing was structurally concerning.
Owens’ team, which also included Keith Lee, Dominik Dijakovic and captain Tommaso Ciampa defeated Undisputed ERA in WarGames after an Air Raid Crash from the top of the cage from Ciampa to Adam Cole.
Before last night, Owens hadn’t competed in NXT since August 2015, his last match a losing effort in a ladder match for the NXT Championship against then-champion Finn Bálor at TakeOver: Brooklyn.
As of now, Kevin Owens is still being advertised as a member of the Raw team for the men’s Survivor Series elimination match.
