More details have now been provided regarding today’s cutbacks by WWE, with the company once again letting people go for financial reasons.
So far, we know of Gerald Brisco having been released. PWInsider is reporting that thus far the cutbacks have been to office staff and backstage personnel who had been placed on furlough in April.
Over the last couple of months, some who were furloughed had returned and some had been completely released. It would seem like today is a judgement day of sorts where either one or the other will be happening to anyone who hasn’t found out yet.
Departments that have been hit particularly hard are the live events and travel teams, because there’s no need for them right now with COVID-19 restrictions still in place.
Thus far, there have been no talent releases today that anyone is aware of.
