There is an injury update for two popular NJPW stars, who have been pulled from their respective Road To Castle Attack matches.
Hiromu Takahashi was set to compete on February 20 Road To Castle Attack but was pulled from the show. As a result, Shingo Takagi competed in a singles match instead of teaming with Takahashi.
It has now been revealed that Takahashi was pulled because of a left shoulder injury. As per the Japanese NJPW website, Takahashi injured his shoulder the previous night, so was being examined by doctors on February 20.
Announcing that some match cards will change, NJPW posted this notice:
“Hiromu Takahashi injured his left shoulder at the Morioka tournament yesterday (February 19th). I will miss the Yamagata tournament today (February 20th) because I will be examined at the hospital. We sincerely apologize to those who were looking forward to the match of Hiromu. Along with this, some of the announced battle cards will be changed. Thank you for your understanding.”

Another star injured on the Castle Attack tour was Tetsuya Naito. Scheduled to face Kota Ibushi for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship on February 28, this match is up in the air after Naito suffered a knee injury on February 16.
As of now, Naito is still scheduled to face Ibushi on February 28. Opening the February 17 show, Naito apologised for not being able to compete on the tour leading up to Castle Attack.
According to Dave Meltzer, Naito is expected to wrestle the title match. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer clarified:
“Tetsuya Naito suffered a knee injury in his 2/16 match in Tokyo and will be off some shows, but said he will be wrestling his 2/28 IC title match in Osaka against Kota Ibushi”
Will Ospreay was recently dealing with a shoulder injury, but is now back in action.
