WWE is reportedly resolving its trademark battle with Chelsea Green over the use of her name, which is also her birth name.
WWE applied to trademark Chelsea Green back in November and Green provided a letter of consent, but this was obviously part of the multi-year deal she agreed to before she was released this past April.
After she was released, she applied to trademark the name, but WWE tried to keep hold of it, using the letter of consent from November as a means to do that.
Now, as reported by Fightful Select, WWE has told Green it will be releasing the trademark so that she can use it herself outside of the company.
This comes after she had tweeted: “I never thought I’d be in a legal battle for my BIRTH GIVEN name… “.
Green is notably working with IMPACT, ROH and the NWA currently.
You’re probably wondering why I didn’t talk about the legal issues with my name being trademarked??
Well, at 9pm last night I received a call saying they were withdrawing the trademark & the name is MINE!!— Green With Envy (@GreenWEnvyPod) August 9, 2021
