A match involving WWE Hall of Famer Edge is now set for the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view taking place on January 1.
Both Edge and The Miz returned to Raw last week to set up their feud, and that continued tonight.
Edge was the guest on Miz TV tonight, where things escalated between the two men once again, resulting in Miz making the challenge for a match.
He emphatically said he wanted a match “at January 1” instead of at Day 1 which was pretty funny, but he got the point across.
There had been reports that WWE had talked about potentially bringing in Edge’s wife Beth Phoenix and having her and Miz’s wife Maryse involved in the storyline, but there was no sign of that based on tonight.
The current card for Day 1 is now as follows:
- Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar – Universal Championship
- Big E (c) vs. Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins – WWE Championship
- Jey & Jimmy Uso (c) vs. King Woods & Kofi Kingston – SmackDown Tag Team Championship
- Edge vs. The Miz
