Earlier today, Tony Khan made the announcement that the battle royal opening tonight’s AEW Dynamite will be contested under ‘Casino Battle Royale’ rules.
That means it’ll be similar to a Royal Rumble, but instead of 30 entrants coming in one-by-one, it’ll be four groups of five entrants coming in at intervals (to represent the four suits in a deck of playing cards), followed by one lone ‘Joker’ entrant at the end.
Historically, AEW’s Jokers have been big returns or debuts, or at least someone very notable, so with that in mind, let’s take a look at six potential options that could pop up as the Joker tonight.
Keep in mind, the winner of the battle royal will advance to a match with Jon Moxley in tonight’s main event, and the winner of the main event will advance to Forbidden Door to compete for the Interim AEW World Championship against Hiroshi Tanahashi or Hirooki Goto.
