Several WWE stars, and other notable names from the world of wrestling, have reacted to Saraya’s AEW debut.
The former ‘Paige’ made a surprise appearance during the September 21 Dynamite: Grand Slam event to confront Britt Baker and Team DMD, who were attacking Interim AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm.
Tony Khan then confirmed that Saraya had signed with AEW, declaring her ‘All Elite’.
Following her AEW appearance, former SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley celebrated her friend’s new venture, tweeting:
😍😍😍 HEY NOW
Sonya Deville also reacted to the debut, with the emojis:
🙌🙌🙌
A number of non-WWE stars also sent messages of support to Saraya following Dynamite: Grand Slam, with Former IMPACT Knockouts and WWE Women’s champion Mickie James commented on the crowd reaction, noting:
Helluva pop sis!!!
Others who congratulated Saraya included former WWE names Renee Paquette and CJ Perry (fka Lana).
While Saraya’s roster status hasn’t been confirmed, there have been some clues to indicate that the former Divas Champion will return to the ring in AEW.
Saraya last wrestled during the December 2017 WWE Madison Square Garden house show, before announcing her in-ring retirement in April 2018, due to a neck injury.
She previously noted that she only wants to return to the ring for a ‘really, really big moment‘.
Saraya finished up with WWE in July, after her contract with the company expired. Check out a list of every WWE departure of 2022 at this link.
