WWE Hall of Famer Sean Waltman recently made his return to WWE television alongside Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Road Dogg as part of the DX 25th Anniversary celebration segment on the October 10 episode of Raw.
Waltman announced on WWE’s The Bump last year that he had been cleared for an in-ring return. Waltman ended up being injured in a GCW tag team match earlier this year, but he’s still spoken about potential opponents on the WWE roster.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Waltman named two young WWE stars that he would like to have a match with.
He said:
“Pete Dunne, that guy is excellent. I would really like to have a match with that guy … there’s a lot of young blood out there that’s really promising that I look at and go, ‘man if I was 25 or if I was 30’ … even Austin Theory … is another guy I could image doing really great things in there with when I was younger.”
Waltman tore his pec during a GCW tag team match, where he teamed with Joey Janela against Matt Cardona and Brian Myers. Janela turned on Waltman after the match, before the two then fought against each other at Spring Break.
Waltman spoke about his recent matches, and how he felt like ‘dogs**t’ after them, which would put him off from stepping in the ring again.
He said:
“Dude, I’m old though. I had two matches this year and I ended up with a torn bicep. I had my bicep fixed and I’m like, ‘dude, what was I thinking man?’ I can still do it, but man, I felt like dog s**t afterwards. I can’t imagine how (Ric) Flair felt.”
Waltman recently spoke about potentially returning to WWE with Triple H in charge. Waltman said he would be open to being brought in for the premium live event kick-off show panels, as that would be something he thinks he’d excel at.
