An update has emerged on SmackDown star Shotzi’s legitimate status following a recent WWE injury angle.
On the December 9 edition of SmackDown, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler attacked Shotzi in a backstage segment in the parking lot. It was later announced that Shotzi had suffered a broken hand.
While many initially thought that Shotzi’s injury was a work, the SmackDown star recently shared an X-ray image of her injured hand.
PWInsider has now confirmed that Shotzi was legitimately injured, which led to WWE writing the parking lot angle into the December 9 show.
Shotzi recently went head-to-head with Ronda Rousey, losing to the SmackDown Women’s Champion at Survivor Series on November 26.
Shotzi has recently been aligned with Raquel Rodriquez, who is expected to be Rousey’s Royal Rumble challenger.
A number of top names are currently on the shelf, including Drew McIntyre, who was originally set to challenge for The Usos’ Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship with Sheamus on last week’s show, but wasn’t medically cleared to compete.
In a new update, Drew McIntyre revealed that he plans to make his WWE return ‘very very soon‘.
