WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner was the center of a major controversy in April, when he shouted transphobic remarks to IMPACT Wrestling star Gisele Shaw at WrestleCon.
Steiner’s remarks were corroborated by witnesses from the event, as well as Steiner confirming that it happened to people who had spoke to Fightful.
Steiner was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022, as well as making appearances on NXT during his son Bron Breakker’s feud with Joe Gacy.
Breakker recently spoke to USA Today, where he said that his father’s comments don’t reflect him, with WWE also not having any heat with Breakker over his father’s comments.
However, per Fightful Select (subscription required), Steiner’s comments have prevented him from making potential appearances in the company, with the controversy eliminating any chance of him making appearances there in the future.
