WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has sent an injured WWE star a heartfelt message of support, praising their recent work prior to the forced hiatus.
Taking to Instagram, Foley posted a picture of WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Sonya Deville, while also expressing his disappointment at the news of the 29-year-old’s torn ACL injury.
Foley wrote in his post:
BEST WISHES FOR SONYA
Man, this one hurts… I am a huge fan of @sonyadevillewwe’s tag team with @chelseaagreen and they were just getting started on what would have been an incredible run as @wwe tag team champions.
More than that, Sonya is a great person and wrestler, and truly deserves the best.
I hate seeing anyone get dealt such a rough hand, especially when they are doing so well — but I know she’ll be back and better than ever soon.
Deville suffered the injury during the tag match involving herself and Chelsea Green against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair on the July 28 Smackdown.
Green and Deville had been widely praised fir their work as a pairing, with WWE reportedly looking forward to stabilising the women’s tag division with them at the forefront.
Unfortunately however, their reign looks set to be cut short after just under three weeks.
However, as of right now, there is no indication of what the company plans to do to determine new champions.
Deville also received a special message from her former Fire and Desire tag partner Mandy Rose following the injury, click here to read on.
