A WWE star who’s been in tag team action for a while could be ready to step out and become a singles talent moving forward.
On the November 17 episode of SmackDown this past Friday, the Street Profits won a three-way tag team #1 contenders match against Pretty Deadly and Ridge Holland & Butch of the Brawling Brutes.
After the match, there was potentially a bigger story as there seemed to be an issue between Holland and Butch.
During the match, Butch had inadvertently kicked Holland, and rather than leaving together, Holland gave Butch a bit of a shove and left on his own.
Obviously, that was a tease that they could be breaking up, and there’s now been another sign of that being the case.
At this past weekend’s untelevised WWE live events in Tupelo, Mississippi and Jonesboro, Arkansas, Ridge Holland had a singles match on both shows against Karrion Kross.
If you were looking for something to read into that, it could be seen as further confirmation that the idea is for Holland to become a singles talent soon.
It’s also worth mentioning that, in recent weeks, Butch had been working singles matches against Kross at live events as well.
The return of Brawling Brutes leader Sheamus, who’s been out injured for over three months, is believed to be imminent, and that’ll likely play into whatever happens between Holland and Butch next.
In some other news from the same live events, there was a potential hint at the future of the LWO after the recent Santos Escobar/Rey Mysterio split.
