Following Scott D’Amore’s departure from TNA Wrestling on February 7, 2024, former WWE star Tommy Dreamer has taken over creative.
D’Amore had been President of TNA Wrestling with Anthony Cicione appointed to the role.
In addition to being President of TNA Wrestling, D’Amore also led the company’s creative.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed Dreamer as the new head of creative, writing:
Tommy Dreamer is now the head of creative as many expected with D’Amore gone.
Dreamer has been involved in TNA Wrestling creative since January 2019 having also served as a producer.
He left Impact Wrestling in November 2021 but would return to the company as both producer and wrestler in December of that year.
Dreamer would be the subject of the first title change of the new TNA Wrestling era, losing the TNA Digital Media Championship to Crazzy Steve at Hard to Kill.
In the wake of his firing, it was reported that some members of the TNA roster were upset about D’Amore’s departure.
WWE’s Naomi, who had worked as Trinity in TNA Wrestling, sent a message of support to D’Amore on Twitter.
It had also been reported that the budget was an issue between D’Amore and management, as he had wanted to sign Braun Strowman in 2021 but it didn’t end up happening.
