6 New AEW Commentators

AEW has an ever growing and evolving cast of individuals who serve as commentators on Dynamite, Collision, ROH and pay-per-views.

From Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz to Nigel McGuinness, Bryan Danielson and the recently returning Paul Wight, several different names have contributed to the soundtrack over the action in All Elite Wrestling.

Looking at those who currently work for the company or outside of the promotion, there are a few more commentators or potentially announcers that might be able to play a meaningful role behind the desk on TV and PPV.

Here are six new potential AEW commentators.

6. Walker Stewart

Back at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025, New Japan Pro Wrestling commentator Walker Stewart made his debut in All Elite Wrestling to represent his home promotion.

Stewart once again appeared to represent NJPW at Forbidden Door 2026 where he once again showcased why he is one of the best young announcers in wrestling today.

At 24 years old, Stewart has what it takes to one day be one of the leading voices in the industry and someone who fans hear calling the action on weekly mainstream pro wrestling television.

Considering the experience he is getting by providing English commentary for NJPW, Stewart has to be someone AEW looks to for a long term replacement for some of their older crop of commentators on their team.

5. Jeff Jarrett

On the July 25 episode of AEW Collision, Jeff Jarrett joined the commentary team at the desk to call some of the action in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.

The former 13-time world champion has been with All Elite Wrestling since signing in 2023 and has contributed to the promotion in a number of ways.

From working on live events to being an analyst on the Zero Hour pre-show, Jarrett has offered whatever he can to AEW beyond just as an in-ring performer still.

Considering his experience inside the squared circle for the past 40-plus years, Jarrett is the kind of voice that has the respect and credibility to be an essential addition to the commentary team in AEW moving forward.

4. Veda Scott

Looking outside of All Elite Wrestling, there are not many other commentators in pro wrestling today with the class, knowledge and insight of Veda Scott.

Serving several different promotions across the independent scene, Scott has earned the reputation as one of the most popular voices in pro wrestling around the world.

When fans look across pro wrestling, there are no major promotions that feature a female commentator on one of the flagship shows.

Having Veda Scott come in to sit besides Excalibur and Tony Schiavone on AEW Dynamite would push back against the stigma of female voices behind the commentary desk in wrestling.

3. Mick Foley

After deciding to part ways from WWE, Mick Foley has since gone on to join All Elite Wrestling as an ambassador and on-screen personality.

Since making his debut at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026, Foley has been featured as a special guest analyst on the Zero Hour and Buy In pre-shows as well as a backstage interviewer.

Based on his previous experience, AEW would be wise to call upon Foley to provide color commentary on one of the upcoming pay-per-views or an episode of Dynamite.

Foley has always brought a unique take on commentary with his style and extensive knowledge, offering a different perspective than what fans usually expect from the call on AEW programming.

2. Mauro Ranallo

Recently, Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling made their debut on TSN in Canada and have started their own weekly TV show called Mayhem that airs weekly on MyAEW for those outside of Canada.

On the call for the show is AEW star Don Callis and former WWE NXT commentator Mauro Ranallo.

Since leaving WWE in 2020, Ranallo has mostly worked in boxing, but he has since started to announce MLP since their revival under Scott D’Amore in 2024.

Ranallo coming into AEW for a one-off or full-time position would be an excellent acquisition that could see someone who has offered some of the best calls of the past decade find a new major promotion to call home.

1. Samoa Joe

During his time in WWE, Samoa Joe suffered a few injuries in a row that led to a lengthy time on the shelf.

When he was on the sidelines, WWE gave Joe the opportunity to try out his skills on commentary, which saw him excel and become the voice of Monday Night Raw during the pandemic.

Since his arrival in All Elite Wrestling, Joe has mostly been an in-ring competitor, but if ‘The Samoan Submission Machine’ wanted to prepare for life after the ring, he could still contribute to AEW as an announcer.

With his quick wit, dry sense of humor and enthusiasm for violence, Joe could shine in a major way as a commentator that AEW needs to tap into somewhere down the line.
