6 New AEW Tag Teams

The AEW tag team division has gotten more of a focus throughout 2026 with the title scene delivering some of the best matches of the year.

Whether it be FTR’s clash with The Young Bucks at Revolution or Cage and Cope capturing the AEW World Tag Team Titles at Double Or Nothing 2026, the tag scene has been front and center of some of the biggest matches and moments for the company.

Looking at the roster, there are a variety of stars who could be highlighted in the AEW tag team division by creating new pairings.

Here are six new potential AEW tag teams.

6. Hechicero & El Clon

The Don Callis Family have been the source of many partnerships over the past few years.

From Brian Cage and Lance Archer to ProtOkada, these duos have found a lot of success, but they have been unable to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

This has led to Don Callis pairing the likes of Mark Davis and Jake Doyle as well as RPG Vice in the tag team scene in recent months.

However, the luchador pairing of Hechicero and El Clon might be the key to DCF adding the AEW World Tag Team Titles to their long list of championships.

5. Matt Sydal & Scorpio Sky

Over the past few weeks, Matt Sydal made his return to All Elite Wrestling for the first time in two years.

Sydal is considered one of the pioneers of the independent wrestling boom in the 2000s and someone who gained notoriety during his time as Evan Bourne in WWE.

Gaining his footing back in the company, Sydal has aligned himself with the SkyFlight faction consisting of his former ROH World Tag Team Champion partner Christopher Daniels.

Looking at the group’s lineup, Daniels would be wise to pair Scorpio Sky with Sydal now that he is back and see if the two veterans can find some success in the AEW tag team scene.

4. Willow Nightingale & Kris Statlander

At AEW Redemption 2026, Willow Nightingale defeated Thekla to win the AEW Women’s World Championship.

This marked Nightingale becoming the first woman to ever win the triple crown in the women’s division, capturing the AEW Women’s World, TBS and Women’s World Tag Team Championships.

Having experience in the tag team scene, Nightingale could once again become a force in the division with a litany of partners.

Now that the division has been established in the past few months, Willow reuniting with Kris Statlander could bring one of the most impressive partnerships the women’s scene has seen so far.

3. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. & Deonna Purrazzo

Another former AEW Women’s World Champion who could gain the spotlight in the tag team division is Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

Over the past two years, Baker has been missing from AEW television with no signs of her return to the company.

Based on the length of her absence, many fans believe they will never see Baker back in the promotion, but AEW President Tony Khan has continued to claim that she will return.

Bringing her back to bolster the star power in the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships picture, Baker pairing with her real life best friend Deonna Purrazzo could make for formidable duo that might be a threat to win the gold before long.

2. Konosuke Takeshita & Speedball Mike Bailey

Since signing with All Elite Wrestling in 2025, Speedball Mike Bailey had become a consistent presence in the tag team scene as part of his JetSpeed pairing with ‘The Jet’ Kevin Knight.

However, Knight turned heel and betrayed Bailey by joining the Don Callis Family. Since then, both men have stayed a consistent presence in their storylines with several interactions.

Meanwhile, Konosuke Takeshita was also betrayed by his longtime best friend Kyle Fletcher who chose the Don Callis Family over his former ProtoShita tag team partner.

With both men as adjacent Conglomeration members, Takeshita and Speedball could reunite their pairing from DDT and bring their two versatile styles together to create a potentially fierce tag team that might take AEW by storm.

1. Chris Jericho & Darby Allin

Since returning to All Elite Wrestling in April 2026, Chris Jericho has shown a change of heart and turned babyface with the fans accepting the legend back into the fold.

At AEW Grand Slam Mexico, Jericho teamed with Mistico and Darby Allin to face the Don Callis Family’s Kazuchika Okada, Hechicero and Kevin Knight.

With this marking their first time as partners, Jericho and Allin might want to continue to team with one another.

Being friends outside of the ring, Jericho and Darby might bring similar success to Allin’s pairing with Sting and lead to the legend’s first AEW World Tag Team Championship win.
