In front of what appears set to be a record crowd for a Double Or Nothing event, there should be some memorable moments, including returning stars making their mark on the night.
From former champions to legendary names, these returns should make this huge show even more noteworthy and remembered fondly.
Here are seven potential returns at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026.
7. Buddy Matthews
Buddy Matthews has been out of action since suffering a serious ankle injury back at AEW Grand Slam Australia 2025.
Matthews has been sidelined for well over a year now with no signs of when he’ll be able to step back into the squared circle.
Considering this high profile show, it might be the right time for Matthews to make his presence felt back in All Elite Wrestling again should he be fit to do so.
Buddy returning at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 could open the door for a reunion or potential rivalry with his former Hounds of Hell tag team partner Brody King upon his comeback.
6. Nyla Rose
While she is a former AEW Women’s World Champion, Nyla Rose has been inactive in the company for several years now.
One of the most entertaining female stars on the roster, Rose is someone who could play any number of roles on AEW TV.
With her size and charisma, Rose would be essential to bringing more eyes and attention to the women’s scene again.
Making a return at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026, Nyla could thrust herself right back into the spotlight and become a threat for the AEW Women’s World Title picture again.
5. Ruby Soho
Ruby Soho has been on the shelf ever since taking maternity leave to give birth to her first child.
After nearly two years on the sidelines and over a year since the birth of her child, fans might see Soho back in the fold once again.
AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 would be a huge stage for Soho to make her long awaited comeback to the promotion.
Whether it be aligning with a star on the roster to enter the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Titles or targeting a singles title, it would make sense for Ruby to make an immediate impact back in the company at Double Or Nothing 2026.
4. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.
AEW fans have not seen Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. since her last appearance on television in November 2024.
With it now being well over a year since her last appearance in November 2024, it feels like Baker needs to make her return to the promotion in the near future.
The former AEW Women’s World Champion is one of the biggest homegrown stars in the history of the company.
Baker making her return deserves a major stage like the AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 pay-per-view where she can be front and center positioned as a top star once again.
3. Jay White
Ahead of AEW Dynasty 2025, Jay White was pulled from the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament due to a broken hand injury.
During his time off from All Elite Wrestling, “Switchblade” also underwent surgery to recover from a lingering should injury, which has extended his time on the shelf.
White has long been a prominently featured star since signing with AEW in 2023 and could find himself back in the main event scene upon his comeback.
After spending all that time on the sidelines, White could immediately insert himself into the AEW World Title picture following a potential return at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026.
2. “Hangman” Adam Page
At AEW Revolution 2026, MJF defeated “Hangman” Adam Page in a Texas Death Match to retain the AEW World Championship.
After this loss, Page can no longer challenge for the AEW World Title as long as he lives due to a pre-match agreement.
The former two-time AEW World Champion has not been seen in the company since suffering this loss on March 15.
“Hangman” making his return at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 would make for an interesting return that could cause some ripple effects in the main event picture of the entire company.
1. Mercedes Moné
On the December 31 New Year’s Smash special of AEW Dynamite, Willow Nightingale defeated Mercedes Moné to win the TBS Championship.
Shortly after suffering this loss, “The CEO” decided to take some time off from All Elite Wrestling.
In the months since her absence, Moné has lost her coveted title collection with key losses all over the world in multiple different promotions.
Now after nearly six months away, it feels like the right time to have Moné make her long awaited return at the AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 event on May 24.
