On Sunday, August 30, WWE will present their NXT Heatwave 2026 premium live event from Edinburg, Texas.

Heatwave is one of the premier major shows for the NXT brand and should have some major bouts scheduled for the card.

Whether it be for championship gold or grudges coming to an end, there is a lot of potential that NXT Heatwave could be one of the best nights for the brand in 2026.

Here are eight potential matches to be added to WWE NXT Heatwave 2026.

NXT Women’s Championship: Kendal Grey (c) vs. Kelani Jordan

On the June 9 edition of WWE NXT, Kendal Grey defeated Kelani Jordan to become the number one contender for the XNT Women’s Championship.

Grey went on to defeat Lola Vice to win the title at WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026.

Jordan has been complaining about getting a title opportunity for months now with no end in sight.

Having never challenged for the gold and owning a win over the champion, this should put Jordan in line for her long awaited NXT Women’s Championship match against Kendal Grey at WWE NXT Heatwave 2026 in Edinburg.

NXT Women’s North American & WWE Speed Women’s Championships: ZARIA (c) vs. Wren Sinclair (c)

Elsewhere in the NXT women’s division, the other two singles champions ZARIA and Wren Sinclair have recently found themselves at odds.

On the August 4 episode of WWE NXT, ZARIA and Sinclair went to a five minute time limit draw in their WWE Speed Women’s Championship match.

Since Sinclair retained the gold, she now gets a shot at ZARIA’s NXT Women’s North American Title on the August 11 NXT.

Regardless of the outcome, this could lead to ZARIA and Wren Sinclair clashing for the third time for both the NXT Women’s North American and WWE Speed Women’s Championships at Heatwave on August 30.

NXT North American Championship: Myles Borne (c) vs. Jackson Drake

In recent weeks, The Vanity Project have found themselves at odds with the former No Quarter Catch Crew duo of Myles Borne and Tavion Heights.

Making a wager with NXT General Manager Robert Stone, Borne retained his NXT North American Title over Kam Hendrix to get himself and Heights a shot at the tag gold.

This led to Borne and Heights defeating Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes to win the NXT Tag Team Championships on the August 4 episode of WWE NXT.

After seeing his boys lose their gold, Jackson Drake could get revenge by taking the North American Title from Borne at Heatwave 2026.

While Myles Borne could defend the NXT North American Championship against Jackson Drake at Heatwave 2026, it might not be the only defense of the night for the double champion.

On the August 4 edition of WWE NXT, Borne teamed with Tavion Heights to capture the NXT Tag Team Championships from The Vanity Project.

WWE NXT Heatwave 2026 could see Borne forced to defend both of his titles in one night.

Following their loss to the former No Quarter Catch Crew, Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes should be at the front of the line for their rematch against Heights and Borne on August 30.

Saquon Shugars vs. Dion Lennox in a Last Man Standing Match

At WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026, Saquon Shugars defeated Dion Lennox.

Following the bout, Dark State attacked Shugars with a three-on-one assault to leave him laying.

This has only continued the feud between these two men, which escalated further when they went through the NXT wall on the July 28 episode during their six-man tag team match with Dark State, Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar.

Seeking a conclusion to their issues once and for all, Saquon Shugars and Dion Lennox should settle the score in a Last Man Standing Match to see who can withstand the pain and punishment.

Jaida Parker vs. Nattie in a Submission Match

Another heated WWE NXT feud in recent months has been between Jaida Parker and Nattie.

Over the past few months, Nattie and Parker have traded wins and plenty of disrespect from either direction.

Now that this has expanded to other stars being involved like Thea Hail, Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic, it might be time to bring things back to the central rivalry again.

The WWE NXT Heatwave 2026 should be the site for Ms. Parker and Nattie to end their feud in a Submission Match after both women picked up their previous wins with the Sharpshooter.

Keanu Carver vs. Mason Rook vs. Kam Hendrix vs. Tristan Angels in a NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Fatal Four Way Match

Over the past few months, everyone on the WWE NXT roster has been jockeying for position to get their shot at the NXT Championship.

Following the departure of top talent like Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, Sol Ruca, Fatal Influence and Blake Monroe, NXT went through a rebuilding with new stars debuting and wanting a top spot immediately.

Four of those such stars have been Keanu Carver, Tristan Angels, Kam Hendrix and Mason Rook.

With all four men throwing their names in the hat for a shot at the NXT Championship, Rook, Hendrix, Angels and Carver should be placed in a three-way to determine who moves on for the opportunity they desire at Heatwave 2026.

NXT Championship Triple Threat Match: Tony D’Angelo (c) vs. Cruz Montana vs. Grayson Waller

From a four-way to a three-way, Tony D’Angelo has found himself surrounded by a litany of challengers on NXT right now.

On the July 21 edition of WWE NXT, D’Angelo defeated Naraku in a Street Fight to retain the NXT Championship. Post match, Cruz Montana made his official NXT debut to confront the champion.

Then on the July 28 episode, Grayson Waller made his NXT return to cut a scathing promo disparaging the entire NXT men’s locker room and staking a claim for the NXT Championship.

Considering there will be a number one contender’s match between Montana and Waller on the August 11 NXT, it feels like this will all set up a triple threat for the top prize on the brand between Tony D, Montana and Waller at Heatwave on August 30.
