AEW Stars To Join WWE Soon

On the July 21 episode of WWE NXT, former AEW star Mike Santana made his official debut after signing with the promotion.

Santana joins a long line of former AEW stars who have signed with WWE after their time in the company was over, such as Cody Rhodes, Rusev, Ethan Page, Jade Cargill, Royce Keys, Ricky Saints, Penta, Rey Fenix and CM Punk.

Looking at the current AEW roster, there are quite a few names who could follow in these stars’ footsteps by heading to WWE in the near future.

Here are eight AEW stars to potentially join WWE soon.

8. Sammy Guevara

The latest star who has found themselves at the center of backstage speculation in AEW is Sammy Guevara.

The three-time TNT Champion turned heads when he removed any mention of AEW from his social media bio, although a new update has suggested the company wasn’t actually in his bio in the first place.

While Guevara is not refuting any of the rumors regarding his future, he is still on the active AEW roster as of the time of this writing, and still reportedly under contract.

With his presence on AEW TV diminishing however, perhaps a move away may be the right choice. Guevara leaving AEW could open the door for his move to WWE where he would be an excellent contributor to the NXT brand.

7. Tay Melo

In investigating news surrounding Sammy Guevara’s status with AEW, some more information about another talent was revealed.

According to a new report, Guevara’s wife Tay Melo asked for her release from the promotion last year that was denied.

After being denied her release, Melo has since made her return to in-ring competition alongside Anna Jay as TayJay.

Considering that she is not currently involved in any major storylines right now, it just makes sense if Tay gets her release and heads back to WWE where she might be better utilized for what she offers.

6. Kamille

Another AEW star who seems better suited for WWE right now is Kamille.

Signing with All Elite Wrestling in 2024, Kamille was seen as a top free agent and came to immediately be paired with Mercedes Moné.

However, this pairing did not last long and eventually led to Kamille being written off television for well over a year. Making her return at AEW Dynasty 2026, Kamille only appeared twice before disappearing from the company’s programming once again.

Looking for a fresh start, Kamille may need to leave All Elite Wrestling and sign with WWE where her size, strength and look would benefit greatly in the women’s division.

5. Wardlow

At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025, Wardlow made his return to the company after over a year on the sidelines.

However, this return was short-lived after Wardlow suffered a torn pectoral muscle that required more time away.

After missing the better part of two years, Wardlow might need to depart AEW to finally get a new lease on life in the pro wrestling industry.

Finding a new home in WWE, Wardlow has always felt like a ready made WWE star with his look, size and strength.

4. Scorpio Sky

Coming into All Elite Wrestling as an original, Scorpio Sky was part of the building blocks of the promotion in 2019.

Over the course of his time in the company, Sky is a two-time TNT Champion and was one half of the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions.

Now considered a veteran on the roster, Sky has not been used quite as often as he had hoped when he returned to AEW in 2025.

Feeling underutilized by Tony Khan and AEW, Scorpio Sky could play a more important role as a player-coach on WWE NXT if he decides to leave and sign with the competition when his contract expires this year.

3. Persephone

Someone who has been on WWE’s radar for a very long time before she even signed with AEW is Persephone.

The 24 year old star has become a standout everywhere she appears, whether it be All Elite Wrestling, Ring of Honor or for CMLL in Mexico.

WWE Hall of Famers like Mark Henry have gone on record to bring up how much the company sees a bright future in store for the current CMLL Women’s World Champion.

Persephone leaving CMLL and AEW to go to WWE would be interesting to see if they use her on one of their main brands or utilize her star power to bolster Lucha Libre AAA in Mexico.

2. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

There have been more questions surrounding Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. than any other AEW star on the roster.

After nearly two years away from the company, many fans are wondering if they will ever see Baker back in All Elite Wrestling.

The former AEW Women’s World Champion has always felt like someone who would be more suited for WWE than Tony Khan’s promotion.

Now following two years on the shelf without an injury, Baker could remind the fans just how good she is in a new home like WWE down the line.

1. FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler)

The latest AEW names who found themselves getting some interest from WWE as of late are FTR.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have cemented their status as one of the greatest tag teams of their generation during this run in All Elite Wrestling where they are three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions.

Adding in reigns in Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling and Lucha Libre AAA, Harwood and Wheeler have pretty much done everything they can in AEW and might be ready to complete some unfinished business in WWE.

After everything they accomplished in AEW, FTR can come back to WWE with a bigger spot on the card and more money than they ever imagined from the biggest pro wrestling promotion in the world.
