Brie Bella WWE return plans: Possible directions for the Hall of Famer’s comeback following her injury at SummerSlam 2026

Brie Bella is currently out of action due to a shoulder blade injury which she suffered during six-woman tag-team action at WWE SummerSlam.

With Brie initially stating that she’d be out of action for “a bit“, the Hall of Famer later stated that she’d be out for three to six months following her injury on August 1.

Almost two months on from then, there has been a lot of speculation about plans for Brie Bella’s return, in what could be her final run in WWE.

Here are four potential directions for Brie Bella’s WWE return.

Royal Rumble return

Brie Bella’s WWE return at Royal Rumble earlier this year was so nice, she could do it twice.

With Brie Bella expected to be out of action for three to six months following SummerSlam, the next time we see her in the ring could be at Royal Rumble 2027, six months after the Biggest Party of the Summer.

The Royal Rumble matches are always filled with shocks and surprises, one of those could be the return of “Brie Mode”.

Regardless of when the former Divas Champion is cleared to compete, we could see WWE wait until next February’s premium live event before pulling the trigger on her comeback.

Women’s Tag Team Championship run

Following Brie’s return earlier this year, she and Nikki made it clear that their main mission was to hold the Women’s Tag Team Championship together.

Things only somewhat went to plan for Brie at WrestleMania 42, with the Hall of Famer winning the women’s tag title, but alongside Paige, who replaced Nikki Bella following an injury.

With Nikki indicating that she plans to retire from wrestling at the end of 2027, the Bella Twins have just over a year to win the gold together, before the opportunity slips away forever.

With retirement looming, there is another storyline Brie could have with Nikki…

Nikki Bella feud

Nikki Bella and Brie Bella briefly feuded with one another in 2014, ahead of reuniting their team and continuing on as allies.

We could see the Hall of Famers revisit this rivalry, even if it’s just for one match, ahead of stepping away from the ring for good.

With much of Brie’s return being about showing her children what she can do in the ring, it would be an interesting turn of events to see Brie and Nikki show their families what they could do against one another in 2026/7.

Retirement match against Blake Monroe

Ahead of her WWE SmackDown in-ring debut, Blake Monroe publicly shared a pitch for her to become the female Legend Killer.

Monroe named several stars she could retire as part of this gimmick, including Nikki and Brie of the Bella Twins.

While there are several stars we could see Brie Bella stand across the ring from in her final match, it would make sense for her in her last in-ring appearance to help another star get over.

With Blake Monroe and Nikki Bella previously teasing matches, a Blake vs Brie bout could also be on the cards.
