Predicting The Card For WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event

On September 6, WWE will hold its first Sunday Night’s Main Event from Atlanta, Georgia.

This show will be the first major event for the company following the two-night WWE SummerSlam 2026 premium live event.

Considering the fallout of the August 3 WWE Raw and what’s in store for Friday Night SmackDown this week, Sunday Night’s Main Event could see several significant bouts on the card.

Here are our predictions for the card for WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event.

The Judgment Day (Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez) vs. Stephanie Vaquer, IYO SKY & Becky Lynch

At WWE SummerSlam 2026, Liv Morgan defeated IYO SKY to retain the WWE Women’s World Championship.

Following that win, Morgan, Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez made a statement with a Judgment Day beatdown on Sol Ruca. However, the returns of Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer interrupted this attack.

With both Lynch and Vaquer staking their claim to her title, Morgan should try to put every and any obstacle she can in their way to her gold.

WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event could see Morgan, Perez and Rodriguez face Vaquer, SKY and Lynch in an all-star six-woman tag that might hold some ramifications in the title picture moving forward.

Big Cass vs. Je’Von Evans

On the August 3 edition of WWE Raw, Big Cass made his return to the company by attacking Je’Von Evans following his win over Ethan Page.

Then in a backstage segment, Cass stated that it was nothing personal and that Evans was the first of many bodies he would stack.

Considering the hype that went into his return, it would make sense if WWE wanted to highlight Cass on the next major event.

Cass facing Evans in a grudge match could make for a great showcase for both men at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6.

Paige vs. Nikki Bella

At WWE SummerSlam 2026, Fatal Influence defeated Paige and The Bella Twins in a six-woman tag team match.

After the bout, The Bellas attacked Paige with Nikki Bella stating that she deserved it for taking her spot as Brie’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship partner.

However, Brie Bella suffered a serious shoulder injury during the course of the bout that will force her to miss time from in-ring competition.

Now on her own, Nikki could face her former friend Paige in what should be a personal grudge match at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event.

Baron Corbin (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes – United States Championship

On the July 10 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Baron Corbin made his return to WWE for the first time in nearly two years by attacking Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes.

Following this attack, Corbin went on to defeat Williams to become the new WWE United States Champion at SummerSlam 2026.

Now holding the US Title, Corbin should get some successful defenses under his belt to further reestablish himself in the company.

At WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event, it should be Carmelo Hayes as the first contender to step up and challenge Corbin for the gold.

Chad Gable (c) vs. Penta – Intercontinental Championship

At WWE SummerSlam 2026, Chad Gable defeated Penta to win the Intercontinental Championship.

This marked the first time that Gable scored a singles win over Penta following his months-long redemption arc.

Penta showed respect to Gable after the match and then again on the August 3 edition of Monday Night Raw where the two men went on to defeat The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh in tag team action.

Gable giving Penta an IC Title rematch would be fitting and could potentially give the two men more time to have an even better bout at the September 6 WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event.

Chelsea Green (c) vs. Jade Cargill vs. Charlotte Flair – Interim WWE Women’s Championship

After years of struggles and being considered one of the most underrated female stars in the company, Chelsea Green defeated Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend in a ladder ,atch to win the Interim WWE Women’s Championship.

Picking up the biggest win of her career, Green is now riding high with more momentum than she has ever had.

However, the SmackDown women’s division has mostly been focused on the rivalry between Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill as of late.

Pitting her against two former champions, Green facing Flair and Cargill in a triple threat would be a tough first test for the new Interim WWE Women’s Champion at Sunday Night’s Main Event.

Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker

At WWE SummerSlam 2026, Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar to win a Hell In A Cell match.

After the match, Lesnar decided to give Femi a firm endorsement, calling him the future of the company. This led to ‘The Ruler’ claiming himself to be the leader of the new generation of talent.

Following this statement on the August 3 WWE Raw, Femi got into an intense staredown with Bron Breakker, who took exception to his claim.

Bringing two of WWE’s breakout new stars against one another, Femi squaring off with Breakker at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event could just be the start of a lengthy rivalry that spans the rest of their careers.

Undisputed WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Kevin Owens

Following 17 months on the shelf with a serious neck injury, Kevin Owens made his return to the company at WWE SummerSlam 2026.

Proving to not have lost a step, Owens defeated Sami Zayn, GUNTHER and Finn Balor to become the new number one contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

After SummerSlam, CM Punk remains the Undisputed WWE Champion following his win over Cody Rhodes thanks to outside interference from a returning Randy Orton.

Punk facing KO will be a highly anticipated first time meeting that should draw plenty of attention as the headliner on the WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event card.
