4. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels – Bad Blood 2004
Now, 2004 was basically the year of Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H, with the feud finally ending inside Hell in a Cell.
One of the best parts of this match was the fact that during the first portion, there was no major violence. That means that there were no weapons, no cage spots, no blood, just wrestling. It was a nice slow start to the match, and made the eventual hardcore spots, like the elbow drop through the table, more special.
This Bad Blood Hell in a Cell match blew the Hell in a Cell match with Triple H and Kevin Nash at the previous year’s Bad Blood out of the water.
3. Triple H vs. Cactus Jack for the WWF Title – No Way Out 2000
This was the culmination of the brutal and bloody feud between Cactus Jack and Triple H.
This was a retirement match, where if Cactus lost, he would be forced to retire. He would break that stipulation a month later, with the WrestleMania 2000 main event, and that kind of soured me a tiny, tiny bit.
But again, that is a nitpick to this match, which showed how tough Triple H was, and that he wasn’t just a cowardly ass-kisser. He showed the entire WWF fanbase that he could hold his own without the Corporation by his side.
