Over the past four weeks, McGuinness has fought tooth and nail against some of the best on the AEW roster for this opportunity.

In front of his family and friends, Nigel will look to overcome his current ankle injury to win the big one.

Wanting to make his countrymen proud on this night, McGuinness comes in with a ton of motivation.

Considering his return to in-ring action two years ago in the same building, there has been some conversation if this could serve as the swan song for one of the greatest British wrestlers to ever step into the squared circle.

In a lot of ways, Nigel McGuinness having a singles match at Wembley Stadium feels like the culmination of his in-ring comeback.

After stepping back in the ring at AEW All In London 2024, McGuinness has made sporadic appearances as an in-ring competitor.

In AEW, McGuinness rekindled his rivalry with Bryan Danielson at Grand Slam 2024, faced off with Zack Sabre Jr. over the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Forbidden Door 2025 and most recently for the Continental Cup.

With everything he has done since his return, one last match against “The Ace of AEW” in Jon Moxley would be a fitting end for McGuinness.

This final run in the Continental Challenge Cup has shown that Nigel still has something left in the tank.

It wouldn’t surprise anyone to see Nigel continue to compete following All In London 2026.

However, it becomes a question of what could possibly cap things off for Nigel better than this Wembley Stadium title match.

With the buildup heading into the event and everything fans have seen from the legend in the past two years, Nigel McGuinness hanging up his boots after All In feels like a very strong possibility.

Putting on one last ditch effort against Moxley will have the fans in London on the edge of their seats.

Then, there shouldn’t be a dry eye in the house when Nigel finally says goodbye to his fans.
