An update has emerged on Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide stars signing new contracts with WWE, and the future of the brand.
WWE’s version of AAA has been firmly established since the former company’s acquisition of the latter in April 2025.
With a number of AAA stars making names for themselves under the WWE banner, we will reportedly see more AAA names sign full-time WWE deals soon.
Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is looking at signing more AAA stars to the same type of full-time contract as El Hijo Del Vikingo.
Per Meltzer:
Currently the only AAA wrestler signed to a full-time WWE deal from Mexico is El Hijo del Vikingo, but they are now working on getting tons more signed and U.S. working visas for them. Basically everyone who is featured on TV to any real degree they are looking at signing.
A number of AAA stars have appeared on US WWE programming recently, with the likes of Mr Iguana and La Parka appearing in the men’s Royal Rumble match on January 31.
The latest AAA updates and news stories ahead of Rey De Reyes on March 14 can be found right here.
